President of Republic Receives Romanian Ambassador’s Credentials

On 4 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of HE Ms. Maria Siobani, in her capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Romania to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
Following the presentation of the credentials, the President of the Republic received Romanian diplomat in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.
In a statement to the Mauritanian news agency, the Romanian ambassador said she was honored by the meeting, during which she wished the President of the Republic and the Mauritanian people good health and happiness. She noted that the two countries have maintained good relations for 57 years.
She added she was very happy to have had to meet many Mauritanians who studied in Romania and who welcomed her very well, which gives these relations a very important human dimension.
Ms. Siobani stressed that she would pay particular attention to the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, especially since Mauritania has promising economic potential.
