The Secretary General of the Ministry of Fishing and Maritime Economy, Mr. Ahmed Sayed Ahmed Edje, accompanied by the Algerian Ambassador to Mauritania, H.E. Mohamed Ben Atto, oversaw on Wednesday evening in Nouakchott, the signing of the minutes meeting of the Mauritanian-Algerian Sectoral Technical Committee on fishing.
The agenda focused on three main topics, which dealt with developing a mechanism to embody the five licenses previously granted to Algeria in the field of fishing and to determine the process of cooperation in the fields of fishing, the marine economy and aquaculture, in addition to other various points.
The minutes meeting show that an agreement is being prepared between Mauritania and Algeria for cooperation in fishing, the marine economy and aquaculture under which the Algerian side will be granted a specific quota to be caught by a group of Algerian-flagged ships.
