On 24 September, the Minister of National Defense, Mr. Hanena Ould Sidi, presented to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Nouakchott his condolences following the death of the former Egyptian Minister of Defense, Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi.
In the condolence register of the Egyptian Embassy in Nouakchott and in the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador to Mauritania, the Minister of National Defense wrote:
“On this painful occasion, I offer my sincere condolences on behalf of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and on behalf of the Government and people of Mauritania to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, to the Egyptian government and people and to the family of the deceased, imploring the Almighty to grant him mercy, to welcome him into His Paradise, and to inspire his family with patience and solace.
