The works of the seventh regular session of the Council of Ministers of the African Great Green Wall Agency started today at the international conference centre in Nouakchott.
Countries comprising the agency Burkina Faso, Chad, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, and Sudan delegations took part in the opening of the session.
On the occasion the minister of environment and sustainable development, acting chairman of the agency ministers MS. Mariem Bekaye, delivered the opening speech in which she detailed all challenges facing the achievements of the great green wall.She also thanked all interanational development partners for their contribution to the development of the sahel region in the fight of desertification.The session was inaugurated in the presence of the Ministers of Agriculture, Water and Sanitation, the Minister, the Secretary-General of the Government, in addition to a number of representatives of the relevant government sectors, the diplomatic corps accredited in our country, the technical and financial partners of the Sahel and the African Great Green Wall Agency.
