Organizing a Mobilization Workshop to highlight the Importance of the Role of Digitization in Modernizing the Administration

The Minister of Digital Transformation and Modernization of Administration, AHMED SALEM BEDE ETVAGHA, together with the Minister in charge of the General Secretariat of the Government, Mokhtar Al-Housseini Lam, on Tuesday in Nouakchott, oversaw the launch of the National Mobilization Workshop for a Modern and Efficient Administration, organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization of Administration.

The workshop, organized by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization of Administration in cooperation with the European Union, aims to strengthen the strategic and organizational role of the state, consolidate long-term planning by modernizing organizational structures and administrative work processes, develop human capital, improve the quality of public services by simplifying procedures and relying on digitization, and establish a strategic vision that promotes social justice and strengthens the roles of the national administration.

In a speech on the occasion, the Minister of Digital Transformation and Modernization of Administration stressed that the progress made in the field of digitization is due to the adoption of electronic platforms and modern reception mechanisms to address complaints through digital media, which contributes to a more transparent and responsive administration that puts the needs of the citizen at the center of its priorities.

He added that this strategy was prepared as a flexible and participatory framework that takes into account the specificity of each sector, with the aim of unifying efforts around a unified vision to achieve tangible results, stressing the importance of efforts and support for the success of this vital national project at all levels.

He explained that the success of this workshop requires participants to submit practical proposals that take into account the specificities of each sector and effectively contribute to the success of this national project in a spirit of responsibility, coordination and innovation.

He reiterated the commitment of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization of Administration to accompany this process by providing the necessary technical support for the implementation of projects and establishing precise follow-up mechanisms to monitor challenges and deal with them effectively and proactively.

 

Ms. Agnes Ablassel, in charge of Administrative Affairs at the European Union Delegation in Mauritania, affirmed the EU’s commitment to accompany Mauritania to implement its national strategy to modernize the administration, in line with the principles

advocated by all, such as improving governance, supporting the rule of law, the effectiveness of public action, and inclusive and sustainable development.

Within this approach, the EU will continue to support digitization reforms, promote professionalism, encourage citizen participation and evaluate public policies, she added.

The opening was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Modernization of Administration and a number of sector leaders.
