First Lady honored by the Federation of Midwifery Associations of French-speaking Africa

The Federation of Associations of Midwives of French-speaking Africa presented First Lady Dr. Mariem Mohamed Fadel Dah with a certificate of appreciation, in recognition of her pivotal role in the success of the Federation’s first scientific conference, which took place in Mauritania from September 17 to 20, 2024.

The award certificate was presented during a meeting on Wednesday evening (March 12, 2025) at the Presidential Palace, which brought together First Lady Dr. Mariem Mohamed Fadel Dah, President of the Association of Mauritanian Midwives, Coordinator of the National Reproductive Health Program, Fatima Moulay Abdallah, and Secretary General of the Association of Mauritanian Midwives, Aicha Mohamed Cheikh El Hadj.

In a press statement after presenting the honor to the First Lady, the President of the Association of Mauritanian Midwives, Coordinator of the National Reproductive Health Program, praised the importance of the conference through her active participation in its activities and her serious sacrifices in the fight against maternal and neonatal mortality in Mauritania. According to her, the First Lady’s efforts will bear fruit in convincing all first ladies to join the ranks, to lead the fight against maternal and neonatal mortality to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals during the second term of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
