Culture Minister offers Mauritanian Government Condolences on Death of Former US President

The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesman, El Houssein Ould Medou, on behalf of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, on Monday at the US Embassy in Nouakchott, offered condolences on the death of Jimmy Carter, President of the United States of America.

In the book of condolences at the U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott, in the presence of H.E. Mr. John T. Ice, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Mauritania, Minister recorded the following condolences:

“On behalf of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, and on behalf of the Mauritanian Government and people, I am pleased to register in the register of condolences allocated at the Embassy of the United States of America in Nouakchott on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter.

I share the sorrow of the American government and people after the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, whose career was an outstanding American leader.

His political and humanitarian career has also served as a model for the values and ideals of peace, giving and openness to developing countries.

I am confident that the distinguished Mauritanian-US relations will witness a period of remarkable development at the current stage by strengthening exchange and cooperation in order to consolidate the authentic relations between our two countries.”

The condolences were attended by the Ambassador and Director General of Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed El Hanachi El Kettab, and the Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Ould Bab Ould Ely Mahmoud.
