Social Action Minister Participates in Conference on World Bank Report on Economic Situation in Mauritania

The Minister of Social Action, Children, and Family, Ms. Naha Mint Haroune Ould Cheikh Sidiya, participated, Tuesday in Nouakchott via videoconference, in the fourth edition of the World Bank report on the economic situation in Mauritania.

This fourth edition of the report aims to accelerate economic growth by building the capacities of women and examining certain approaches to economic development in Mauritania.

The report has two parts. The first relates to the economic situation for the year 2020, and the economic outlook for the period 2020-2023, through the assessment of risks and challenges, while the second concerns equality between the two sexes in Mauritania and the analysis of the principles and obstacles that hinder women’s economic role.

The Ministers of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors and Finance, the representative of the World Bank, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Mauritania, and the officer in charge of special duties at the IMF Representation also attended the videoconference.
