Minister of Culture Receives a Representative of the United Nations Population Fund

On Thursday 11 January, in his office in Nouakchott، the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and Relations with Parliament, Mr. Ahmed Ould Sid’Ahmed Ould Dié, received the representative of the United Nations Population Fund in our country, His Excellency Mr. Nestor Azzah Dekbi

The meeting discussed ways to develop and enhance cooperation between our country and this UN body in areas of the Ministry’s intervention, especially those related to the reproductive health of youth and adolescents.

During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the role of youth as the basis of development in the country, highlighting that the sector is close to completing the preparation of the national youth strategy in cooperation with its international partners.

He called on the authority to work to activate the partnership with the sector in order to enhance the capabilities of young people in facing reproductive health challenges.

In turn, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund thanked the Minister for the positive approach, dynamism, and comprehensive explanation that will help create and activate cooperation between the Authority and the sector.

The meeting took place in the presence of a number of ministry officials.
