Geneva: Minister of Economy Holds Talks with the US Delegation Participating in the Global Refugee Forum

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mr. Abdessalam Mohammed Saleh, held on Tuesday in Geneva extensive talks with the delegation of the United States of America,

Participant in the Global Refugee Forum, led by U.S. Under Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy and Human Rights, Ms. Ezra Zea.

During the meeting, they reviewed various aspects of cooperation relations, especially in the field of asylum issues, as the United States is the first supporter of our country in the field of assistance to refugees, as it has already provided more than $ 25 million to sponsor refugees through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

During the talks, Minister praised the great support provided by the United States to our country in all development fields, and affirmed our country’s aspiration to enhance and expand this cooperation.

In a related context, the Minister discussed in detail the worrying security and political situation in the Sahel space, and its repercussions on the region, which caused the number of refugees to increase at an accelerated pace.
