Minister of Equipment and Transport: Environmental Issues have been the Focus of Mauritania’s Public Policy Attention for Several Years

The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mohamed Ali Ould Sid Mohamed, stressed that environmental issues have been the focus of Mauritania’s public policies for several years because, like many countries, it is strongly affected by the effects of climate change.

During his participation in the activities of the Third Conference on Aviation and Alternative Fuels held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, he explained that the significant energy resources possessed by Mauritania constitute great potential for the production of green hydrogen, which is one of the important priority energy projects on which it is gradually relied as an alternative to energies that disturb the environmental balance.

He added that the Mauritanian government has adopted a national strategy for the development of the energy sector aimed at allocating a significant proportion of the national energy resources mix to renewable energies.
