Prime Minister Receives Democratic Opposition Leader

Nouakchott, 10 Sept 2020 (AMI) – On 10 September in Nouakchott, Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal granted audience to Mr. Brahim Ould Bekaye, leader of the democratic opposition.
Coming out of the meeting, the leader of the Democratic Opposition made a statement in which he said he had talks with the prime minister where he wished him howling success in his mission consisting in serving the populations and solving the problems they are facing.
Mr. Brahim Ould Bekaye added that the meeting was also an opportunity to discuss several topics relating to the administrative situation of the democratic opposition institution and the results of the visit he paid, a few days ago, to the populations affected by the torrential rains.
He indicated that they also addressed the political situation in the country and the necessity to hold an inclusive national dialogue on the fundamental issues, such as the national unity, the humanitarian issue, the reform of the electoral system, the independence of the judiciary, the fight against corruption and bad governance, and the protection of freedoms, among others.
