Mauritania Appreciates Efforts Made To Achieve Comprehensive, Lasting Political Solution in Yemen

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania appreciated the series of meetings held in Sanaa with the aim of reaching a comprehensive and lasting political solution acceptable to all Yemeni parties.

This is what emerges from a statement released on 20 April by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, which reads as follows:

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad is following with great interest the efforts to bring out the sisterly Yemen out of the crisis, as part of the Saudi initiative announced in 2021.

The Ministry appreciates, in particular, the series of meetings that took place in Sanaa between 17 and 22 Ramadan, with the active presence of the brotherly Sultanate of Oman, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive and lasting political agreement bearing a solution acceptable to all Yemeni parties, based on the Saudi initiative, according to the references of the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism and the results of the comprehensive national dialogue as well as the resolution n ° 2216 of the Security Council “.
