Foreign Affairs Ministry Affirms Continuation of Action To Support Appropriate Presence of National Skills in International Bodies, Organizations
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad affirmed the continuation of action for the realization of the vision of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, aimed at strengthening the appropriate presenceof Mauritanian national skills in regional and international bodies and organizations.
In a statemlent released on 8 April, it congratulated the Mauritanian executive Nouhou Thiam for his appointment as head of the decision-making bodies of the African Union.
The statement reaads as follows:
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad has learned with great satisfaction the news of the appointment of our compatriot, Mr. Nouhou Thiam, to the post of Head of the decision-making bodies of the African Union (Commission
of Permanent Delegates, Executive Council, and Conference of Heads of State and Government) at the office of the chairman of the African Union Commission, after having passed a competition conducted on the basis of competence by the African Union and after having been chosen from among the three winners of the competition.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad congratulates Mr. Nouhou Thiam for this deserved trust, wishing him every success in this great mission.
The Ministry also seizes this opportunity to affirm the continuation of its sustained action, within the framework of the vision of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, to ensure the appropriate presence of Mauritanian national skills in the bodies and
regional and international organizations, with the aim of representing the country and serving the issues of Humanity”.
