FIFA President Inaugurates Nouadhibou Stadium’s Grass

On Feberuary 16, the president of the International Governing Body of Association Football (FIFA), Mr. Gianni Infantino, welcomed the completion of the new stadium of Nouadhibou, after he cut the symbolic ribbons.

The ceremony took place in the presence of administrative and municipal authorities, the vice-president of CAF, and president of Mauritanian Football Federation, Mr. Ahmed Ould Yahya. Who received the president of FIFA.

The Stadium of Nouadhibou, in its new form, was completed with funding from the Mauritanian government, but the new lawn was subsidized by FIFA. The President of the Mauritanian Football Federation, Ahmed Ould Yahya, thanked FIFA for its efforts, particularly manifested in the Forward program, which enabled the accomplishment of the stadium. He declared that Mauritania is proud to host this competition. In this regard, he thanked the Mauritanian government for their funding of this important facility.

As for the president of FIFA, who visits Mauritania for the fourth time, praised the continued efforts and achievements of the Mauritanian football federation.
