African Conference for Peace Recommends Creating University, Radio Station

The African conference for the consolidation of peace recommended creating a university of Sharia and a radio station broadcasting in all the languages spoken to propagate the values of peace.

The conference also stressed the importance of strengthening the role of women and youth through the creation of a council of women leaders for peace and another council of young people, calling for the cessation of wars in

the continent while demonstrating reason and wisdom.

The final communique insisted on the need to adopt dialogue as the only tool for settling conflicts, organize peace caravans led by ulemas and notables, open peace workshops throughout the year in the

African capitals, and consolidate the partnership between the organizations concerned with peace.

For their part, the participants in the meeting praised the role of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and thanked the Mauritanian government for the good organization of the conference.
