On 17 January, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, awarded His Excellency Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,the Prize of the Promotion of Peace in Africa during the third edition the African Peace Conference 2023.

This prize, decided by the participants of the second edition of the African Peace Conference 2022, is awarded to scholars, thinkers, young people, and decision-makers from the African continent who have contributed to peace and reconciliation.

The event took place on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the third edition of the African Peace Conference 2023, which began its work today under the theme: “Enter All in Peace”.

It should be noted that Mr. Muhammadou Bukhari arrived in Nouakchott on 16 January to participate in the third edition of this conference, where he was received at Oumtounsy International Airport by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal Messoud, some members

of the government, the Director of Cabinet of the Prime Minister, the wali mouçaid of Western Nouakchott, the president of the Nouakchott region, and the Nigerian Ambassador to Mauritania.
