MPs From SWEDD Member Countries Visit Mauritanian Parliament

On 22 December, in Nouakchott, a parliamentary delegation from member countries of the Sahel Women’s Empowerment and Demographic Dividend (SWEDD) project visited the Mauritanian Parliament.
The delegation was welcomed by MP Sidna Soukhna, the first Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, who briefed the visitors on parliamentary action and the experience of El Mauritania TV in treating parliamentary news.
The delegation had previously taken part in the regional meeting of parliamentarians from SWEDD member countries, crowned by the Nouakchott Declaration, which decided to create a network of parliamentarians from the countries member of the project whose main objective is to empower women and promote reproductive health.
