Human Rights Commissioner Receives UN Delegation

On 16 December, in Nouakchott, Mr. Cheikh Ahmedou Ould Ahmed Salem Ould Sidi, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action, and Relations with Civil Society, met with a UN delegation, led by Ms. Nicole Ameline, a UN CEDAW Committee expert and President of the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace. It also included Mr. Jonas BOCHET, the director of International Institute for Human Rights and Peace.
The meeting focused on ways and means to strengthen cooperation relations between our country and this United Nations body and to prepare the presentation of Mauritania’s periodic report to the Committee on eliminating discrimination against women, scheduled for early next year.
