Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets With UN Deputy Secretary General

On 26 September, in New York, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, met with HE Ms. Amina Mohamed, the Deputy Secretary General.
The two parties discussed cooperation issues between our country and the UN in the areas of peacekeeping and sustainable development.
In this context, the UN official highlighted Mauritania’s role in the Sahel region, expressing the organization’s gratitude and willingness to continue cooperation for a crisis-free Sahel region.
