The Minister of Trade, Industry, Handicrafts, and Tourism, Mme Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknass, participated Sunday, via videoconference, in the meeting of the Arab trade ministers hosted by the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This meeting comes on the sidelines of preparations for the World Trade Organization (WTO) ministerial meeting, which will take place at the end of next November in Geneva.

In a speech on the occasion, the Minister affirmed that Mauritania, a founding member of the World Trade Organization, has kept pace with the path of global trade liberalization and the establishment of a multilateral trading system. In this regard, the minister said that Mauritania is committed to all the principles and objectives contained in the Marrakesh Agreement and the subsequent decisions and statements, including the Doha Development Agenda.

The minister added that the Mauritanian government has taken advanced decisions towards full liberalization of trade exchanges and active participation in the African Continental Free Trade Organization.
