Fisheries Minister Adopts Strategy that Balances Fishing With Its Economic Returns and Combating Illegal Fishing
The Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, Dy Ould Zein, said that investment opportunities in the field of fishing in our country are promising, as the Mauritanian coasts are among the world’s richest in fish.
In a speech delivered at the opening session of the 10th International Exhibition of the Blue Economy and Fishing Products, currently being held in Mazara del Vallo in (Italy), he added that the government has adopted a strategy to preserve and sustain wealth, balancing fishing and its economic returns and combating illegal fishing, stressing that the sector is working to Developing scientific research and maritime control.
On the sidelines of his participation in the conference, the Minister conducted several important side meetings with some Western investors aimed at encouraging investment in our country and informing them of the legal and regulatory arsenal it has achieved, as well as the distinguished location of our country and the purity of its fisheries revolution these meetings are expected to continue during the next two days.
