The Minister of Mines and Industry, Mr. Dy Ould Zeine, received on Tuesday the Ambassador of France to Mauritania, His Excellency Mr. Emmanuel Besnier, who was accompanied by Mr. Luc Boyer, Economic Counselor at the French Embassy. The meeting was held within the framework of efforts to strengthen economic and industrial cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The discussions centered on prospects for cooperation in the fields of mining, industry, and investment. On this occasion, the Minister affirmed that Mauritania is actively working to foster an attractive business climate built on stability, transparency, and a strengthened legal and institutional framework designed to encourage foreign investment.
He emphasized that Mauritania places great importance on French and European investments, viewing them as strategic partners capable of driving value addition in the country’s mining and industrial resources, while creating development and employment opportunities. He added that expanding the presence of European investment reflects the close friendship and dynamic economic cooperation between Mauritania and its European partners.
The two sides also reviewed the significant opportunities offered by Mauritania’s mining sector. Particular emphasis was placed on the country’s strategic vision to develop processing industries and increase the added value of its natural resources, thereby paving the way for high-quality partnerships that serve the mutual interests of both nations.
