St Petersburg

The Minister of Justice, Mr Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of justice with the Russian side yesterday, Wednesday, in St Petersburg.

This memorandum, signed on the Russian side by the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in legal and judicial matters, and to exchange expertise and experience in a way that contributes to the development of the justice system and the advancement of judicial work.

The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of the 14th International Law Forum, which opened yesterday in St Petersburg, with the participation of a number of officials and legal experts from various countries around the world.

The Minister’s participation in this forum comes in response to an invitation from his Russian counterpart, Mr Konstantin Chuychenko, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the two friendly countries, and to expand areas of coordination and consultation on legal and judicial issues of mutual interest.
