Mauritania Strengthens Its Strategic Partnership with the European Union During the 13th Joint Parliamentary Meeting

Brussels hosted the proceedings of the 13th Joint Parliamentary Meeting between the National Assembly and the European Parliament on Monday evening, attended by a high-level Mauritanian parliamentary delegation led by Mr. Sidney Soukhona, First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and comprising the following members of parliament: Al-Eid Mohamedn M’Barek, Ahmed Hamadi, Mohamed Abdoul N’Gai, and Umm Kulthum Al-Yasa.

This parliamentary meeting aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between Mauritania and the European Union by focusing on a number of priority areas, most notably: the development of clean energy, particularly green hydrogen; supporting the rule of law by strengthening cooperation between parliamentary institutions; investing in youth through training and exchange programs; as well as cooperation in the areas of security, migration, and advancing economic development.
