Scholars’ Committee Presents Findings on Dialogue with Extremism-Related Detainees

The Scholars’ Committee tasked with conducting dialogue with detainees involved in cases of extremism and radicalization has expressed its profound gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, for the audience granted to the committee on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Presidential Palace, as well as for his sustained attention to this important issue.

In a statement received by the Mauritanian News Agency, the committee indicated that it submitted to His Excellency a comprehensive report detailing the outcomes of its latest round of dialogue with the concerned detainees. The report highlighted the effectiveness of the Mauritanian approach, which relies on scholarly and intellectual engagement, in addressing and countering the phenomenon of extremism and radicalization.
