Mauritania strongly condemned the rioting and vandalism at the UAE embassy and the head of mission’s residence in Damascus. The country expressed full solidarity with the UAE.
This position was expressed in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, released on April 4.
Here is the text: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad strongly condemns and vehemently denounces the acts of rioting and vandalism that targeted the embassy of the brotherly State of the United Arab Emirates as well as the residence of its head of mission in Damascus, constituting an attack on the inviolability of diplomatic missions and a flagrant violation of the rules of international law.
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania reaffirms its solidarity with the United Arab Emirates.”
