President of Republic Receives Written Message From Congolese Counterpart

On 3 April, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, received a written message from His Excellency Mr. Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This message was delivered to him during an audience he granted to Mr. Mbando Fanzo Crispin, Deputy Minister to the Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for Francophonie and the Congolese Diaspora, and special envoy of the Congolese President.

Following the audience, the Congolese envoy stated in a declaration to the Mauritanian news agency that the message concerned the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s candidacy for the position of Secretary General of the International Organization of La Francophonie. He indicated that this candidacy, officially adopted by his country, will be led by Ms. Julianna Amato Lumumba.

The Congolese official also praised the strong bonds of brotherhood and friendship between the two countries, expressing his deep gratitude for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him.
