Justice Minister Receives UN Delegation

On 30 March in Nouakchott, Minister of Justice Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, received a United Nations (UN) delegation composed of Mr. Asif Khan, Director of the Policy and Mediation Division within the Department of Political Affairs and Peacebuilding, and Mr. Othman Mohamed, representative of the Security Council, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and partnership between Mauritania and the international organization.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on several issues of mutual interest.

The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing to strengthen its partnership with the United Nations, with a view to best serving the interests of both the country and the international organization.

For his part, the UN representative commended the level of bilateral cooperation between Mauritania and the Organization.
