President of the Republic: Vocational Training is a Key Lever for Development and Youth Empowerment

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, affirmed that vocational training is a fundamental pillar in Mauritania’s development path and that the government gives special attention to this sector due to its pivotal role in employment and the economic and professional empowerment of youth.

His Excellency added, during his chairing Monday evening, at the Higher Center for Technical Education in Nouakchott, of an Iftar ceremony in honor of a group of vocational training trainees and graduates, that this meeting reflects the importance he attaches to vocational training as a main pathway to achieve economic development by providing youth with the necessary skills to obtain job opportunities in accordance with the needs of the national market.

His Excellency the President of the Republic explained that the achievements made in the field of vocational training constitute a significant gain for the national economy, pointing out that this sector provides young people with support and guidance that enables them to enter professional life with confidence and competence. He emphasized that job opportunities exist in our country, especially for young people who possess competence, skill, and serious determination to work, noting that vocational training grants them this important advantage, which is possessing skills and aligning them with the needs of the national market. His Excellency the President of the Republic called on young people to continue education and training seriously, pointing out that every skill they acquire represents a key to success and future job opportunities, and urged them to actively engage in serving their country, considering them the pillars of the present and the responsible ones for the future.
