His Excellency Kais Saied, President of the Republic of Tunisia, received Mr. El Houssein Ould Meddou, Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesman, at the Carthage Presidential Palace on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Serving as a Special Envoy, Minister Ould Meddou delivered a written message from His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. The message centered on the commitment to further strengthening and promoting the distinguished and deeply rooted bilateral relations between the two brotherly nations.

During the meeting, both parties highlighted the historical foundations and cultural depth of Mauritanian-Tunisian cooperation. The discussions also underscored the steadfast, brotherly positions that have defined the relationship since Mauritania’s independence. Under the leadership of President Ghazouani and President Saied, both nations reaffirmed their sincere political will to expand and diversify cooperation, responding to the shared aspirations of their citizens for greater regional integration.
