President Oversees Launch of Special Social Programs for Ramadan

On February 18 in Nouakchott, President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani oversaw the launch of special social programs for the holy month of Ramadan 1447/2026. The programs aim to support vulnerable citizens and ensure high-quality basic consumer products are available at reduced prices.
The president visited the Ramadan 2026 Exhibitions, a pilot exhibition organized at the former Nouakchott airport. There, he officially launched the operation to supply basic consumer products at subsidized prices. This initiative is implemented by the government in partnership with the private sector.
Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani toured the exhibition pavilions and observed the abundance of products at reduced prices.
