Kaedi
His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, stated that the Gorgol region is the province he has visited most since assuming the presidency, noting that it is the region from which he launched the Republican School project, one of the key components of his electoral program “My Commitments,” in addition to the Djeoel Call, reflecting the great importance he places on this region.
His Excellency explained, during the meeting held Sunday night/Monday with the leaders of the Kaédi district, that despite the size of investments witnessed in the region across various development sectors, especially in water, health, education, agriculture, and other vital sectors, investment efforts will continue to meet the aspirations of citizens and improve their living conditions.
The President pointed out that the Gorgol region represents a microcosm of the nation, characterized by brotherhood, affection, and cohesion among the various components of society, considering this a source of pride and honor, and affirming that the Mauritanian people generally move in this direction, united and harmonious, seeking what is good and in the public interest.
His Excellency said that it is unfortunate to hear speeches from some members of society that sow division more than they unite and undermine rather than provide solutions and constructive proposals. He called on all citizens of the nation to work on strengthening social unity and instilling the values of harmony and love among its various factions.
His Excellency the President of the Republic issued a special appeal to the national political elites, urging them to spare the country and its people from speeches that may harm its unity and cohesion, calling on them to contribute positively to everything that strengthens social cohesion and unity.
He highlighted the important role played by Mauritanians abroad, through representing their country in the best possible way and providing significant services to it, emphasizing that the homeland has room for all its children and that everyone should contribute to developing and enhancing its unity and harmony, placing its supreme interest above all else.
The President of the Republic clarified that the government will spare no effort in overcoming manifestations of inequality and injustice in the distribution of resources and opportunities, stressing that improving the conditions of the most needy citizens will remain a top priority until they can join the middle class.
His Excellency added that the government will intensify development programs in vulnerable areas and will adopt a positive discrimination policy in all interventions aimed at reducing economic disparities and eliminating manifestations of injustice, while providing a positive environment that protects the unity and cohesion of society. He considered that what is happening in some countries of the region should serve as a lesson and a warning for us, urging gratitude to God for the security and stability the country enjoys.
His Excellency the President directed his speech to the youth, emphasizing that the nation relies on them primarily as they are the present and future of the country, calling on them to focus on what unites the ranks, because the nation is bigger than being preoccupied with small issues that have no horizon.
