The Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives a High-Level Delegation from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohammad Salem Ould Merzoug, today Monday received in his office a high-level delegation from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by the Director-General for Development Cooperation, Mr. Stefano Gatti, along with the Italian Ambassador to our country, Her Excellency Ms. Paola Maria Cristina, and a number of Italian officials.
The meeting addressed the distinguished bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them. The prospects for joint cooperation within the framework of the MATI plan were also discussed.
The MATI plan is an Italian strategy aimed at strengthening partnerships with African countries by supporting sustainable economic development, reducing irregular migration, and securing energy supplies.
