Economy Minister Meets UNDP Africa Director

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdallahi Souleymane Cheikh Sidiya, met Friday with Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa, UNDP Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Africa.

The discussions centered on strengthening cooperation between Mauritania and the UNDP, with a focus on supporting the implementation of the third and final phase of the Strategy for Accelerated Growth and Shared Prosperity (SCAPP). Key priorities included accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), enhancing economic governance, building institutional capacity, and securing development financing.

Ms. Eziakonwa commended Mauritania’s ongoing development progress, reaffirming the UNDP’s commitment to supporting the country’s efforts in resource mobilization, social resilience, and high-impact development projects.

This meeting underscores the strategic partnership aimed at advancing national priorities and fostering economic inclusion.
