With the Participation of the National Tourism Office: Launch of the Madrid International Tourism Fair

Madrid

The Madrid International Tourism Fair, one of the most prominent global tourism events, kicked off today, Wednesday, in the Spanish capital Madrid, with the participation of the National Tourism Office, as part of efforts to promote Mauritania as a tourist destination on the international stage, under the slogan ‘The Luxury of Authenticity’.

The Mauritanian pavilion at the fair was inaugurated by Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Kingdom of Spain, Ms. Zinebou Ely Salem, accompanied by the Director General of the National Tourism Office, Ms. Hawa Jallo Abou Moussa.

The National Tourism Office’s participation in this exhibition aims to showcase Mauritania’s diverse tourist attractions, which include beach tourism, hunting tourism, mountain and sand tourism, as well as the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

This year, Mauritania is participating in the exhibition with a modern look and a larger exhibition space, in line with the requirements of international tourism promotion, and contributing to highlighting the uniqueness of the national tourist destination.

The national tourist map was also highlighted, which is a unique destination for tourists and researchers of ancient civilisations, through prominent historical sites, including including Wadan, Chinguetti, Tichitt and Walata, as well as the city of Koumbi Saleh, which was the capital of an ancient civilisation dating back more than six centuries.

Mauritania’s participation in this international event is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence on the global tourism map, develop professional partnerships and attract tourism investments, thereby promoting the development of the national tourism sector and supporting its role in the national economy.

The opening of the pavilion was attended by the Vice-President of the National Tourism Federation, its Secretary-General, a number of officials from the National Tourism Office, and other stakeholders in the tourism sector.
