Launch of a workshop to approve the Draft Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Procedures Law

This morning, Tuesday, in Western Nouakchott, a workshop was launched to ratify the draft project of the Civil, Commercial, and Administrative Procedures Law.
The workshop, which will last for three days, aims to exchange views and expertise in order to develop a complete, balanced, and implementable legal text that aligns with the transformations taking place in the national judicial system.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Ould Ahmed Ayed, confirmed, during his supervision of the opening of the workshop, that procedural texts occupy a central position in the country’s legal framework, as they are not limited to being mere formal regulatory rules, but represent a fundamental mechanism through which rights are transformed from mere texts into tangible reality.
He explained that this workshop embodies the contents of the National Document for the Reform and Development of Justice, which represents the comprehensive reference framework for reforming the judicial system, and reflects the serious political will to build a modern, effective justice system that is close to the citizens.

He said that the reforms being discussed today are the result of accurate diagnosis and accumulated field experience, observations of practitioners, and researchers’ recommendations, in addition to what the experiences of the national judiciary have accumulated over the past years, benefiting from comparative experiences and international best practices.
