National Assembly’s Economic Affairs Committee discusses two Draft Laws Related to Financing Energy Projects

The Economic Affairs Committee of the National Assembly dedicated its meeting held this morning, Tuesday, under the chairmanship of MP Eid Mohamedn M’bareck, the committee chairman, to study the following two draft laws:

– A bill allowing the ratification of the financing agreement signed on October 1, 2025, between the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the European Investment Bank, allocated to contribute to the financing of the Regional Electricity Transport Corridor project in Mauritania.

– A bill allowing the ratification of the financial protocol signed on October 31, 2025, between the Government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Government of the French Republic, designated to contribute to the financing of the project to establish 10 solar power plants equipped with storage units.

The committee then continued with a presentation given by His Excellency the Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, Mr. Abdoullah Souleiman Cheikh Sidiya, in which he addressed the objectives of the two aforementioned draft laws and the characteristics of each.
