President of Republic Inspects Water Supply Project for 165 Villages

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, visited the commune of Hayré Mbar in the Bababé district (Moughataa) on Tuesday.

During the visit, he reviewed the progress of a major water supply project designed to provide potable water to 165 villages across the regions (Wilayas) of Brakna, Tagant, and Assaba. The project utilizes water drawn from the Senegal River and also includes the irrigation of 3,500 hectares of land.

The President received a detailed briefing on the development status of this project, which is set to secure clean drinking water for dozens of communities in these areas while significantly boosting agricultural capacity through the irrigation of 3,500 hectares.
