Minister of the Interior inaugurates the First Session of Training for the Regional Committees for Border Management in the States of the two Hodhs and Assaba.

The Minister of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed El Amine, presided today, Tuesday, in the city of Laayoune over the inauguration of the first training session for regional committees managing borders in the provinces of Hodh EL Ch Charghi and Hodh El Gharbi, and Assaba.
In his speech on the occasion, the Minister explained that the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, are accompanied by close follow-up in building a modern and professional administration to reform public administration, in line with the President’s program, which is based on building a professional, modern, and effective administration as a fundamental pillar for successfully implementing national projects and achieving the desired political, economic, and social transformations.
He explained that modernizing administration and enhancing its capacities in the field of sound management of available resources would contribute to instilling the values of citizenship and promoting local development, stressing that this requires continuous training and a deeper understanding of the challenges related to administrative management and development issues at the local level, with a view to establishing a state governed by fraternity, justice, and fairness.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Interior and the Promotion of Decentralization and Local Development launched a comprehensive training program, within which a series of forums is organized for the benefit of administrative and municipal authorities across the country, supporting their professional competencies and embodying the reform vision in the fields of administration and local development. He noted that this forum is part of this program.
He emphasized the necessity for everyone, each from their position, to intensify awareness efforts on the priority of citizenship, to work on the success of the republican school, and to ensure full equality in the treatment of citizens and facilitate their access to public services with dignity and ease. He pointed out that villages and towns are communities of citizens who enjoy equal rights and bear equal responsibilities, and they cannot be considered the property of a specific tribe, group, or race.
The launch of the workshop was attended by the governors of the mentioned states, their regional heads, local administrators, mayors, members of the border management committees, and security authorities.
