Minister of Interior holds a coordination meeting with the administrative and security authorities and elected officials in the Hodh regions and Assaba.

Laayoune, December 16, 2025 (Monday) – the Minister of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Al-Amine, held a meeting yesterday evening in the city of Laayoune with administrative authorities, regional heads, mayors, and security officials in the wilayas of Hodh El Charghi, Hodh El Gharbi, and Assaba. This meeting is part of one of four national hubs currently benefiting from training and guidance forums implemented by the Ministry of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development, in accordance with the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani. The directives aim to implement a comprehensive reform of the administrative system, bringing the administration closer to citizens, empowering them to conduct their transactions and exercise their rights smoothly and with dignity, based exclusively on citizenship, while making it more modern and capable of effectively managing available resources.

During the meeting, the Minister spoke about what was included in the speeches of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, in the  Hodh Charghi region during his recent visit to the wilaya. He addressed key points directed at all citizens, focusing on consolidating the state of citizenship, combating the negative aspects of tribalism, bringing the administration closer to the people, discussing security issues and border challenges, establishing the foundations of the republican school and optimal management of public spaces, monitoring the emergency program, in addition to combating corruption, promoting decentralization and local development, managing irregular migration, combating random settlement, and the relationship between administrative authorities and elected officials.
