Mayor of Kiffa Municipality: The Projects that the President will inaugurate are a new Step in Advancing Development and Improving Citizens’ Conditions

The region of Assaba, like the other regions of the country, enjoys special care and attention from His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, as manifested in the implementation of a number of major development projects serving the inhabitants of the region and neighboring areas.
These projects, which included the development of infrastructure in the fields of roads, electricity, water, education, agriculture, livestock development, and others, have formed a central lever for strengthening national cohesion and settling citizens in their original areas, in line with the program for access to basic services for local development in the internal regions recently launched by His Excellency the President from the city of Nema.
In this context, the Mauritanian News Agency conducted an interview with the Mayor of Kiffa, Mr. Jamal Ould Kaboud, who, on behalf of the residents of Kiffa and the Assaba region in general, expressed his warm welcome for the visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a number of vital development projects.
He emphasized that the city’s residents are expressing their great joy at this auspicious visit, the primary outcomes of which include the initiation of the restoration of 700 kilometers of paved roads and the connection of border areas to the communications network, representing a significant leap forward in strengthening digital infrastructure in the region.
He added that the communication network in these areas has become more smooth and of higher quality today thanks to this giant project.
The mayor said that the project to supply the city of Kiffa with drinking water from the Senegal River had been a dream for the residents for decades, highlighting that the idea of implementing it dates back to the period of independence, and it was realized only thanks to the great care that His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, devotes to creating the appropriate conditions for development and enhancing citizens’ access to basic services.
The mayor concluded his statement by emphasizing that these achievements represent a new step in advancing local development, improving citizens’ living conditions, and consolidating the state’s position within the overall developmental momentum witnessed by the country.
