The Minister of Foreign Affairs Decorates the Japanese Ambassador on the Occasion of the End of His Mission in Mauritania

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, on behalf of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, today, Monday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, decorated His Excellency Mr. Inshida Tatsukuni, Ambassador of the Empire of Japan, with the Commander of the National Order of Merit, on the occasion of the end of his mission in Mauritania.

Following the decoration, the Minister received the Ambassador, during which they discussed the exceptional level of relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them.

The Minister praised the role the Ambassador played during his tenure and the efforts he made to enhance cooperation between Mauritania and Japan.

For his part, the Ambassador expressed his sincere thanks to the Mauritanian authorities for the cooperation and support that enabled him to perform his duties in the best possible way.

The decoration ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mr. Daman Hamar, and a number of sector officials.
