The Minister of Public Service holds talks with the Director-General of the International Labour Organization

The Minister of Public Service and Labor, Mrs. Mariem Mint Beidjel Ould Hoummeid, held today, Monday, November 17, 2025, in Geneva – on the sidelines of the 355th session of the International Labour Organization Governing Body – talks with the Director-General of the International Labour Organization, Mr. Gilbert Houngbo.

The discussions addressed ways to strengthen the existing relations between the International Labour Organization and Mauritania, particularly regarding decent work, social security, and supporting our country in organizing public social security forums.

During the talks, the Minister briefed the Director-General of the results of the process to determine the trade union representation of labor organizations, appreciating the technical support provided by the Organization this year to our country, which enabled the completion of several technical studies.

This morning, Her Excellency also participated in the opening of the 355th session of the International Labour Organization Governing Body, in the presence of Her Excellency, our country’s Ambassador to International Organizations and Switzerland, Ms. Aicha Vall Verjess, along with the accompanying delegation members.
