Minister of Economic Affairs Discusses Strengthening Partnership, Attracting Investment With Africa50 CEO

On 15 October, in Washington, Mr. Abdallahi Ould Souleymane Ould Cheikh Sidiya, Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, met with Mr. Alain Ebobisse, CEO of Africa50, during the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.

The meeting explored strategies to expand Mauritania’s portfolio of public-private partnership projects and to secure the necessary investments for their execution.

The two parties discussed ways to improve the quality of cooperation between Mauritania and Africa50, as well as the importance of developing model partnerships combining innovative financing and technical support to ensure the completion of priority infrastructure projects.

It is noteworthy that Africa50, an institution of the African Development Bank Group, is a regional investment platform dedicated to accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects on the African continent by mobilizing public and private capital. The institution supports Mauritania in several strategic projects in the areas of energy, transport, and services through technical support, the issuance of financial guarantees, and the attraction of investors, thereby strengthening the country’s position as a promising destination for investment and sustainable partnerships.
