On 14 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of His Excellency Mr. Bachir Abou Hattab, in his capacity as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
After the ceremony to present the credentials, His Excellency the President of the Republic granted an audience to the Palestinian Ambassador, in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad.
At the end of the meeting, the Palestinian diplomat made a statement to the Mauritanian news agency, in which he said he had presented his credentials to His Excellency the President of the Republic, praising the support and attention he had received from the President of the Republic.
He added that he aspired to develop the deep-rooted relations between the two brotherly countries, Mauritania and Palestine, emphasizing that he had conveyed the greetings of the Palestinian Authority to His Excellency the President of the Republic.
He said that the meeting emphasized the necessity to strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations, highly praising Mauritania’s position alongside Palestine and its support in all international forums.
