Here is the text of the speech:
“Mr. Prime Minister,
Mr. Speaker of the National Assembly,
Mr. President of the Constitutional Council,
Ministers,
Mr. Wali,
Mr. Vice President of the Nouakchott Region,
Excellencies, members of the accredited diplomatic corps,
Mr. President of the Islamic Cultural Rally in Mauritania and West Africa,
Eminences and Excellencies, sheikhs, and scholars,
Dear guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,
May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
As the anniversary of the birth of the Noble Prophet approaches, I am pleased to extend my sincere greetings and warmest thanks to all those scholars and sheikhs, men of virtue and tolerance, whom neither distance nor the various concerns and constraints of life have prevented from sharing with us today the celebration of the birth of the best of creatures and the light of guidance, our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The celebration of his noble biography is a testament to his faith and an embodiment of the values of his tolerant message, expressed in the purity of its sublime ideals.
I am also pleased to congratulate the Islamic Cultural Rally for its ongoing efforts to promote the Prophet’s biography, the dissemination of the values of moderation, tolerance, and brotherhood, in addition to strengthening the role of scholars and reformers, as strongly emphasized in the Nouakchott Declaration, which crowned the work of the 36th edition of this conference.
This 38th edition stems from the same spirit and orientation, as clearly demonstrated by the choice of its slogan: “Spiritual security through the biography of the Prophet and its impact on peace and tranquility in the Islamic nation and humanity as a whole.”
Ladies and gentlemen,
The concept of security, regardless of the context in which it appears, always refers to one of the most noble objectives of our authentic religion. In this regard, it must be said that the objectives for which the rules of Sharia were established aim, broadly speaking, to ensure security, peace, and tranquility by preserving religion, the soul, the intellect, offspring, and property.
The most effective way to achieve these objectives is to adhere to the Sunnah (biography) of the Prophet, may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him, the good example and the bearer of a sublime character whose biography most fully embodies the greatness and sublimity of Islamic meanings and values.
Ladies and gentlemen,
Anyone who examines the set of public policies in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania clearly realizes that they complement each other by focusing on achieving stability and security in their various dimensions, thus establishing the peace through which life is organized and the means for a life worthy of development and prosperity.
In our pursuit of this supreme goal, we have focused on spreading the values of tolerance, moderation, brotherhood, and solidarity, values embodied in the biography of our Prophet.
We have also made considerable efforts to defend these values against deviant and destructive interpretations, fighting against extremism, terrorism, and currents that distort religion, as well as all tendencies that fuel hatred and are racist in nature.
We have also worked to consolidate national unity and social cohesion in support of peace and social harmony to consolidate national unity and social cohesion to correct the balance of distributive justice by fighting injustice and precariousness, strengthening the pillars of the rule of law, and combating false prejudices and stereotypes in our cultural heritage that are contrary to the objectives of Sharia law.
Convinced that the values of moderation, tolerance, and brotherhood embodied in his biography (PSL) have a positive impact on the achievement of peace and tranquility not only within the Islamic nation but also for humanity as a whole, we have worked to make it a guiding principle for our positions in various international forums.
As we open this thirty-eighth edition of the International Conference on the Biography of the Prophet, we place great hope in its outcomes, in scholars, sheikhs, and opinion leaders to spread the culture of security and peace to consolidate the shining images of moderation, tolerance, brotherhood, and solidarity reflected in the noble biography of the Prophet.
Thank you.
