The Ministry of Social Affairs, Childhood, and Family organized an awareness caravan yesterday evening, Thursday, in the city of Aleg regarding the role of women’s mediation in resolving social disputes.
During this four-day convoy, specialized presentations will be offered on communication and advocacy, and the approach of women’s mediation adopted in promoting women’s rights, as well as informing women about the necessity of establishing a mechanism to promote and protect the rights of women and girls.

He added that the government is working under the program of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, “Ambitious for the Nation” to implement a series of activities aimed at accelerating the promotion of women and enhancing their access to various fields through active and effective contribution to efforts aimed at empowering them and defending their rights.women, promote their rights, and defend them.
As for the technical advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs, Childhood, and Family, the coordinator of the gender and women’s rights project, Ms. Amklethoum Hamdino, she confirmed that social mediation is considered a mechanism for resolving various social disputes.
She added that the convoy will contribute to informing citizens about the importance of communication and advocacy in the field of women’s mediation, the approach of women’s mediation and its role in promoting women’s rights, and the contents of the strategy for promoting and protecting women’s and girls’ rights and combating gender-based violence.
Both the assistant mayor of the Aleg municipality, Mrs. Khadija Bint Al-Dhafi, and the regional director of the Ministry of Social Work, Childhood, and Family, Mrs. Tout Bint Yaqoub, highlighted the importance of this caravan, which is part of efforts to empower women.The caravan was launched in the presence of the governor of Aalak, Mr. Mohamed Ould Al-Hussein Ould Ajih, military and security unit leaders in the region, and members of women’s intermediaries in the Brakna region.
