Closure of the National Week of Culture and Arts Events at the Level of Western Nouakchott

The national week for culture and arts 2025 concluded yesterday evening, Monday, at the level of the Wilaya of Nouakchott West, which was launched by the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Communication, along with relations with Parliament, under the slogan: “Your Culture and Your Tourism are Your Holidays.” The closing ceremony featured poetry recitations in classical Arabic, folk poetry, and local dialects, along with praise performances, theatrical shows, and dances from popular folklore.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Jidduo Khathri, affirmed in his speech on this occasion that this cultural week embodies the spirit of the national cultural project launched by the government, under the noble directives of His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, who believes that culture is the vessel of identity, a bridge of unity, and a lever of development.He added that the conclusion of the National Culture Week represents the beginning of a mobile cultural initiative that will tour all the regions of the country, carrying a message of beauty, a call for harmony, and a promise of a nation that embraces all citizens.
For her part, the regional representative of the Ministry of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Parliamentary Relations in the Wilaya of Nouakchott West, Ms. Lalah Cheikh Ahmed, clarified that culture and art embody the values and customs that reflect the sentiments of the Mauritanian people and the creativity and innovation they possess.She expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this cultural week, including associations, organizations, and individuals, noting that their creations were the ladder that brought this event to success.
The ceremony was distinguished by the distribution of awards to the winners in competitions of: the Holy Quran, the prophetic praise, classical and popular poetry, local dialects, visual arts, theater, in addition to popular folklore.The closing ceremony took place in the presence of a number of officials from the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Communication, and relations with Parliament, as well as those interested in the cultural field in the country.
