Signing an Agreement Between the Tourism and Education Sectors to launch the Program ‘The Journey of Outstanding Students to Discover the Homeland’

The capital, Nouakchott, witnessed on Sunday evening, on the sidelines of the launch of the coastal tourism season 2025, the signing of a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Commerce and Tourism and the Ministry of Education and Educational Reform, aimed at organizing a national program entitled ‘The Journey of Outstanding Students to Discover the Homeland’.

This initiative comes as an implementation of the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, aimed at instilling the values of citizenship among the rising generations, promoting domestic tourism, and encouraging investment and leisure in the interior states.

The agreement was signed from the tourism sector by the honorable Minister of Commerce and Tourism, Mrs. Zeinab Ahmadnah; and from the educational side by the honorable Minister of Education and Educational Reform, Mrs. Houda Babah, in the presence of several officials and personalities interested in both sectors.

The program aims to provide outstanding students from various states of Mauritania the opportunity to discover their country’s cultural, tourist, and natural landmarks through organized field trips, contributing to the development of their knowledge and strengthening their connection to national identity.
